Spelling Multi-Tasking

Today I was helping both Kate and Drew with their spelling/phonics words and here's how the conversation went.

Kate-"How do you spell whistle?"
Mom-"w-h-i" Then I gave Drew a word.
Kate-"ready."
Mom-"s-t" Gave Drew another word.
Kate-"I have w-h-i-s-t."
Mom-Drew, spell "decay." "l-e"
Kate-"I have it."

When I looked at Kate's paper this is how she spelled whistle--
w-h-i-s-t-d-k. She heard me tell Drew to spell decay and she wrote dk! I think these are tasks that I should not multi-task during.

She is a true woman; she can do (spell) many things at one time! AND her phonics is excellent! ;)
