That's how I awoke last night at about 1:30. I heard a very loud crash, followed by a brief silence and then the wail of my baby. Okay, she's three, but she'll always be one of my babies! Anyway, I woke Kipp up, and we both jumped out of bed. I guess I really rolled, but he definitely jumped! Ella was screaming by the time he got to her. When I got to her I could see that her mouth was bleeding pretty bad. When we got a light on we could really see it! All that was bleeding was her mouth, but there was blood all over my hand from catching it, all over her jammies and even on the carpet. When we finally got her washed up and settled down we asked her what happened. She had woken up and realized that the night-light wasn't on so she thought she could turn it on, but she tripped over the box of babies in her room and either hit her mouth on that box, the bunk beds or the baby cradle. Kate slept through the whole thing, the crash, the screaming and the lights on. Drew, on the other hand, woke up from the screaming. He is by far the hardest sleeping child we have so I know it was loud at our house last night! When we woke up this morning and took a look at Ella's mouth I noticed that not only is her bottom lip cut, but the inside of her upper lip by her gum. Poor baby! All that for a night-light.
Note to self: leave night-light on or turn back on when Kipp and I go to sleep!
