The Cast Came Off

On Tuesday of this week we went in for what we were hoping would be the last of Kate's cast and dr. appointments. I think I failed to blog about the fact that this was her second cast. She got her green cast cut off the end of April and a short cast was put on. This second cast was only up to her knee so she had been walking on it for a few weeks. The cast was NASTY!! She had been playing outside in the grass and sand for several weeks. I was thrilled to get it off even if we had to get another one. At least the new one would start out clean! Anyway, here we are on Tuesday anxious to see if we would be done with the cast. So, they cut her cast off and did x-rays and then we waited for the dr. to come. He came, said the leg looked great, gave some information about how she would feel, when she would walk normal, what she still shouldn't do and then sent us home! Finally, after 2 1/2 months of a cast and crutches we are down to just crutches! Her leg is still sensitive so she is still using the crutches some, but she is very active and ready for summer! Praise the Lord!
